"No help"

About: Halton Hospital

I called the A&E at halton to explain I have been advised to take my 7 year old autistic son to see them and explained he is scared of doctors and nurses and would not be able to wait the 3-4 hours it would take sat in a tiny waiting room with a lot of other people so would they be able to either send a doctor to see him since I know they have the ability to do house calls or if he would be able to see someone without waiting so long instead of trying to help the only thing they told me was ring 111 so instead of actually trying to help they just passed it on to someone else all together if you have a child or care for an adult with a mental disability dont waste your time with this hospital (Iuse the term loosely) as they simply cant be bothered.

Hello,

We are sorry to read about how you are feeling about your experience, but our facility at Halton Hospital is an Urgent Care Treatment Centre and does not make house calls, nor does our A&E at Warrington. Do you mean the out of hours doctors? Who do come out to patients. These would be accessed by the 111 number. Our team did what they could within their remit, as they can't come to your house. We understand your son's fears and that is why they advised you to speak to the out of hours doctors, who could come and visit or arrange an appointment at a quieter facility at an arranged time to minialise or even avoid any waiting.

If you would like to discuss this further or discuss care options available to your son for future care please contact our PALS Service (patient, advice and liaison service) on WHH.pals@nhs.net or call during office hours - 01925 275512.

Regards

The Communications Team
