Phoned in for an assessment. After waiting 2 weeks the counselor called 30 minutes before the appt abs cancelled. I was patient and waited 2 more weeks to speak with him. After waiting 4 weeks total he calls and his whole chat was based on the pre assessment (a ~15 question triage that apparently underpinned our entire 45 minute assessment chat). With that in mind during the assessment I was constantly cut off, the Islington the Amwell Group therapist kept repeating that there were other people he needed to speak with and kept insinuating they were higher on the list than me. He was argumentative and was frustrating to speak. He cut me off more than 4 times. Not at all like a traditional therapist who tend to be a listening ear. After the assessment I was so frustrated I asked to speak with another therapist at which point he agreed. At the same time , however, he agreed to put me in a 12 week waiting list (upon my ask) for individual therapy (the only good thing to come if our call). I hung up feeling relieved that though I had to speak with him, I at least had a solution. And then to top it all off, he later called and retracted his therapy suggestion saying it would better if another therapist assessed me. So now I have to do the entire assessment again with another therapist. Terrible service and do not feel the support nor the willingness to help. Avoid this service, it will just make your frustration worse.
