My Daughter collapsed and was admitted to RVI with a bleed on the brain and taken to level 5, ward 18 Critical Care Unit.
As the surgeon said to us when we arrived at 2am after a 6.5 hr drive “this is serious” so we set up camp to support our daughter & her family.
There followed scans & two successful procedures, one to relieve the pressure building up on the brain by fitting a drain & another to stop the bleeding in the brain. The procedure to stop the bleed in the brain started in the groin – How crazy is that!
A huge thanks to the team in theatre who executed these complex procedures to perfection.
I would also like to thank the teams on ward 18 who delivered 12 days of personal 1-on-1 attention to the highest level of care not only to our daughter, but also for the attention given to us the visitors. It couldn’t have been to a higher standard
It was here in theatre and on ward 18 where my daughter’s life was saved, she would have not lived without complex surgery in theatre and outstanding care delivered on ward 18. Our family is still complete, we expect a full recovery & we are deeply grateful to everyone involved -
Thank you
What I witnessed on level 5 I can honestly say was outstanding, it was simply World Class!!
