"A&E Triage - Nurse Is a Saint! Thank you to all..."

About: Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

We had a three and a hour wait to readmit my Mum into hospital yesterday. The waiting time was up to five hours.

From the staff on reception, to everyone we came into contact the service was first class. Being in A&E is a truly humbling experience. No one should have to wait five hours to be seen, 30 minutes maximum. However, that is not for the efforts of the staff. One person stood out to us, as we had to deal with her, I am sure there are many more. We saw first hand the triage nurse, tirelessly greeting what must have been 100s of people, with a warm, comforting and professional welcome with every door opening. The range of people that went into that office was wide. The empathy shown to us, efficiency of resolution, was shown to each and every person that entered. If we were tired and frustrated by the wait, I can only imagine how those of you who provide the service day in day out must feel, exhausted? Wanted to record my sincere thanks for your efforts under way too much strain. The system has to change, but the passion shown for the NHS by all the vocations is nothing short of amazing. Thank you,
