"Thanks to minor injuries unit"

About: Cumberland Centre

While visiting Plymouth I had to attend the minor injuries unit at the Cumberland Centre three times for the management of a wound caused by a dog bite. The wound wasn’t healing and they cleaned and dressed the wound regularly resulting in an improvement .

The staff were professional, calm and thoughtful and took time to decide on a course of treatment which was appropriate. They consulted with each other when necessary.

Even though I saw different staff at each appointment there was continuity of care and they found the first nurse who had seen me initially so that he could check my progress and discuss further treatment.

Everyone was kind and respectful and friendly.

The atmosphere on the unit was calm and unhurried.

The computer had lost a record of my second appointment but although the unit was very busy they saw me without too much delay.

Please convey my thanks to the team.
