My only issue with the surgery is that it takes so long to get an appointment. If I book in advance I can be waiting 4 weeks for an appointment that us convenient. If we need an appointment on the day for urgent - with my 6 year old daughter or my disabled son we can rarely get one and have to wait till the evening for an emergency doctor or go to a and e. This happened with my daughter. She had insect bites that had been infected. We couldn't get an appointment after ringing over two weeks every morning. In the end they sent us to the minor injuries clinic out of hour's - after waiting 5 hours there they told us that the service was inappropriate and we had to go to the emergency out of hour's doctor. Once we saw them - I was told my daughter's bites had caused a serious infection and she needed anti biotic as it had got into her blood stream. I was told off by the doctor for not taking my daughter to see someone sooner which would have stopped the infection. Something I'd not been able to do.because of the gp. Next time well go straight to a and e
