"Hip replacement"

I had a hip replacement in June 2019. The whole procedure from pre-assesment through to discharge was amazing!!!! Staff were polite,kind and helpful, answering any questions i had. I didn't really know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with all the help the staff gave me while in hospital. I was scared about 'doing stairs' and being discharged home as i live on my own in a town house, but needn't of worried. The physio's are extremely helpful and encouraging and show you what to do for your own safety. Believe me it's not as bad as you think it's going to be!!! You're just a lot slower! I am 10 wks post op now and doing extremely well. I still do my physio which helps a great deal. I managed to go without crutches by 6 wks!

I was out of my 'normal hip pain' straight after surgery. Obviously just the 'op' pain which didn't last too long. So glad i had it done. Many thanks to all the staff at SWLEOC.
