"Visit to ED"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust

I was experiencing an allergic reaction to newly prescribed medication and the 111 service directed me to ED at NUH. I suggested the Urgent Care Centre might be a better location as I did not feel I was an emergency but 111 insisted I visit ED.

I was treated with kindness and courtesy by everyone and nobody made me feel I was wasting their time.

The nurse I saw gave me large and welcome hugs as well as sound advice and clinical care.

Luckily my allergic reaction was not serious but had it been I know I was in the right place, well done everyone.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us and for taking the time to get in touch. This is great feedback for our Emergency Department. It’s great to read that you were treated with such kindness by the team during your visit. We also appreciate the consideration you had for our service when you initially contacted the 111 helpline. I will make sure that your kind words are shared with the team.

All the best

Anita Morley
