"Lots of medical care but no basic nursing care"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital / Older people's healthcare

I was in AMU for two days and it was filthy. My sheets and gown were covered in blood and not changed. I was not washed or teeth cleaned.

I was moved to Lampton ward which was beautifully clean but whilst the staff were lovely and would help when asked there was no basic care ie washing patients or aiding teeth cleaning.

My wife asked 26 times in A and E and AMU for my hands to be cleaned and dressed as I had fallen on gravel and it was embedded in the palms. Eventually in Lampton they were dressed but my request that the gravel be removed was turned down. On returning home I have now spent four hours in a & e having my hand opened up again to have the gravel removed and stitched up again.
