"Making end of life journey, a positive one"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

The staff on ward 26 are truly one of a kind! I have recently spent a lot of time on ward 26, as my mother was at the end of her life. She was cared for with so much compassion, empathy and commitment. I would often watch as all the staff carried out their jobs, like busy little bees. So caring and a pleasure to get to know. What I particularly noticed though, was the way the ward was led, the sister in charge of the ward, Gemma, would make beds, help take ladies to the shower, hand out meals. Her leadership really created an environment, where it felt like you were part of a family. Ward 26 will forever have a place in my heart, and I am grateful for the time and care that they have to my mum on this journey.

Thank you for this lovely feedback. I know Gemma and the staff on Ward 26 will be delighted to read your heartening words on how their compassion, kindness and hard work stood out for you and your mother during her stay.

I appreciate that this is a hard time for you, and it is very considerate of you to take the time to thank the staff and services involved in the care provided to your Mother.

Thank you again for getting in touch and I wish you and your family every good wish during this difficult period.

With warm regards

Eleanor
