"A service to make you proud"

About: Frimley Park Hospital / Accident and emergency

I don't visit the hospital very often thankfully; when I have, like on this visit, I am reminded of two things. Firstly how lucky we are in this country that most illnesses are treatable and we have a marvellous system for getting things seen to and remedied. Secondly, how proud and grateful we should be to the staff that help deliver this service. In my recent experience, the entire process was both professional and respectful to the very very highest standard. The GP actually cared and thought about my symptoms, and on a professional hunch highlighted something that was actually the cause, without which I would have not been admitted. Once admitted, the care/ward staff were absolutely amazing. Courteous, professional kind and patient. They had a very difficult bunch on my ward (myself excluded!), but handled themselves in a way that the NHS should be extremely proud of. The consultants (who get a bad press sometimes) were quite simply outstanding. Human, relatable, kind, succinct, professional, knowledgable - you could not get a better service anywhere else. And for all of the staff throughout the hospital, this is delivered whist working long shifts and long weeks. The NHS has a bad time of it in the media; let's remember how brilliant it is and the hard work and hours that good decent people put into it to help the likes of you and I.
