"A very distressing experience"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary / Ophthalmology

(as a service user),

We felt very let down by this hospital. The eye clinic, the assessment suite and some of the staff within. We were passed from pillar to post, refused treatment in ward 20. Told we wouldn't be seen by a doctor even though we had a gp referral. 3 hour wait in a and e with dangerously high blood pressure. Discharged from assessment ward then not allowed to leave then discharged without follow-up or treatment plan. All in all a very distressing experience of the RVI in general. Particularly ward 20.
