came to UHNM STOKE ward 112 yesterday (Wednesday) morning 14 August 2019 for decompression spinal surgery major 4 vertebra op 07.00 arrive, came out today 1600 Thursday 15th August 2019. You can not believe the difference. Over 8 years in pain solved in under 36 hours. Life changing. Simply incredible. To the fantastic surgeon thank you - thank you - thank you, to his team - thank you, to the nursing team - thank you. To all the staff for their hard work and good humour thank you. On the day I arrived at hospital I could not walk 100 metres without losing motor-control and falling to my left, I was using a chairlift to go up 13 steps to bed at night, I was in constant pain in my legs and buttocks and my back, even my right hand had pain, I could not stand on tiptoes or on heels, if I sat for more than 10 mins my back would become stiff and legs would become numb, I had no feeing in parts of my legs and could not distinguish blunt and sharp over major parts of my body and legs, life was no fun. It really wasn’t.... I left hospital completely repaired, it’s quite incredible. It’s is impossible to put into words, yes the cut is soar as would be expected, yes I have to spend time recovering, it is major surgery after all. But this is life changing stuff, how do you say anything because thank you does not seem enough.
