This is a really good GP surgery. Apart from one doctor all of the doctors here have treated me with dignity and respect. The doctors here have given me hope that I can recover from mental ill health as in the past I was told that I would never get better. When things are really bad even a little bit of hope and someone having faith in you can go a long way. What is fantastic at this surgery is the fact that despite having a mental health issue my physical health is given equal priority and is not brushed off as part of my mental illness. In reality this has translated to me feeling confident to address some longer standing issues that I had previously felt scared to address and this has improved my quality of life and strangely enough had a positive effect on my mental health! Also unlike in previous surgeries I'm offered double appointments without asking and am trusted to request my own repeat prescriptions and am not questioned endlessly about why I'm on medication. For the first time in my life I've had the chance to be in control of how I access healthcare and more importantly am treated equally. Of course I do mention one doctor I did not have a good experience with but that is just one doctor and I can chose to see others anyway.
