"Birth delivery"

About: University College Hospital Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing / Maternity

(as a service user),

Arrived in the morning and the midwife waited for us downstairs. After an hour and a half of arriving I gave birth. It was a water birth. At one point I began to panic but the staff were there to reassure me. They even helped my husband in how to change the baby. If I could know the nurses names I would love to thank them for their help.

I am a member of the senior leadership team within maternity, spending half my time working clinically and the other half researching ways to improve maternity services.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. We are pleased to hear you felt very supported during your water birth and afterwards when getting to know your new baby. We will pass your comments on to our birth centre staff. Many thanks.
