I was referred to Homerton Hospital by my NHS dentist for a Wisdom Teeth Extraction.
After the referral I received a phone call to arrange a consultation.
I then received a letter in the post confirming the consultation date.
At the consultation I had an x-ray and then sat with a surgeon who went through the x-ray with me and talked me through the procedure including all the potential risks and side effects.
A few weeks later I received a call from the hospital with a potential date available for the surgery.
I confirmed the date and shortly after received a letter in the post to confirm it all.
I was advised by my dentist that there would be a wait of at least 3 or 4 months before I hear anything back but the whole process took two months.
I was very happy with the time it took as I had prepared myself to wait for a lot longer.
When it came to the day of the surgery I was very nervous.
The surgeon and the nurses I dealt with were so polite and kind and friendly.
I wish I had taken their names so I could thank them!
They made what would normally be a pretty traumatic experience into something that was actually really easy!
Every single person I dealt with at the hospital were so friendly and helpful and I was so impressed by everything involved in the service from start to finish.
