"unprofessional treatment"

About: Royal Free Hospital

I have my blood tests at Royal Free Hospital regularly and my experiences have mostly been negative.

I feel the phlebotomist who handled my blood test yesterday treated me unprofessionally and unfairly.

I requested to have my blood test on my left arm (which has usually been granted at other hospitals) but she complained that I had bad veins as well as dry skin and insisted that she must draw blood from a particular vein on my right arm.

The tone of her voice was aggressive.

As soon as she inserted a needle, I felt strong pain.

My arm is left with a big and painful bruise and an unusual bump which I never experienced previously.

I had difficulty sleeping because of the pain last night.

This is not the first time I was treated similarly at the hospital's blood test clinic.

Hello

Thank you for sharing your experience; I am terribly sorry for the care you describe, it is never acceptable to be aggressive.

I have shared your review with senior managers so they can be made aware and tackle any poor behaviours.

Kind Regards

Richard
