So you start off with a telephone assesment, at first they suggested an anxiety support group but I felt I really needed 1-1 so I had to push in the assessment, i had to push so much the assesment took a month to complete. When I was finally on a waiting list for CBT they told me it wouldn't be long, 12 weeks max and that counselling was an even longer wait so I should count myself lucky... 28 weeks later I finally got seen and that was only because I deteriorated, had to be seen by a mental health nurse and they had to chase up the referral otherwise I could of been waiting longer. Then because it had been so long since my original assesment they had to redo it and then told me I wasn't really appropriate for their service because I'm too high risk. Thanks for nothing talk Wandsworth... Cue another 3 month (if I'm lucky) waiting list. Moral of the story go private if you can, if not there's plenty of charities out there who will do a better job and work on a sliding scale (between £5-£20 a session)/if you're struggling they will normally see you for free.
