I unfortunatly broke my finger and required the hand trauma team to fix it. I felt a little worried about having to receive surgery and being awake to have it done. The anesthetist was very good at putting me at ease and explained the procedure and continued to explain what he was doing and how my arm would feel. The student nurse and nurse that were with me were brilliant, we chatted throughout the anesthetic procedure and this really helped take my mind off it. The surgeon was extremely good and managed to line my finger up without having to put screws or pins in. All staff involved were very helpful, kind and caring and it made the experience a little less daunting. Thankyou!
