My GP referred me to the gynaecology department - I have recurrent issues, and have been treated at Musgrove Park Hospital previously. The referral was declined, with the suggestion that the issues could be treated via my GP. I know the possible treatments that would be available; they would be unacceptable to me. This is why I had asked for the referral to the hospital.
I can no longer see the waiting times listed on the hospital website. They used to be given by department. Now there is just an assurance that they are meeting the 18 week target. I suspect this is being achieved by bouncing as many referrals back to where they came, regardless of the impact this may have on patient quality of life. I'm currently too depressed to head back to my GP to plead for treatment. Thanks Musgrove *thumbs up*
