"The staff helped put us at ease"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (Ward 18) University Hospital Monklands / Respiratory Medicine (Ward 17)

(as a relative),

My father was admitted to Ward 17 in University Monklands Hospital with a chest and urine infection. As a family we were very concerned. The staff helped put us at ease and explained everything clearly and with patience. They worked with us to allow us to help with my father's care. They never stopped answering our questions and calling me to discuss things when I couldn't be at the hospital due to work commitments. Everybody from the cleaning staff to the doctors couldn't have done anymore to support us. There are to many names to mention but I would like to say thank you to every one of them.

Dear C-Family

Thank you so much for your kind posting on Care Opinion. The staff in Ward 17 will be absolutely delighted with your feedback. I am pleased that your felt at ease in the ward and that everything was explained clearly and with patience.

I also see that you were able to deliver some of your dad' s care and that must have been so re-assuring for him. This is the care we aim to deliver every day to every patient and I am glad that we made a difference for you and your family. As the Senior Nurse for Ward 17, I will ensure that your kind words are shared with all the team.

Kindest regards

Eileen
