I don't often go to the GP but over the past 6 weeks I have needed to for a couple of reasons. On the first occasion I was seen the day I rang and on the second occasion I was seen the next day. Both occasions I was treated really well and everything was sorted out. On the second occasion I needed to have blood taken and although not phobic I really don't like that procedure. My way through it is to make a fuss to distract myself and I tell the member of staff that my veins are rubbish and everybody gets it wrong and that they end up having to use the back of my hand which is all true and probably very annoying to the staff member. Anyhow, the long and short is that this time I didn't feel anything. I went through my usual histrionics but barely noticed the needle going in. Thank you Sister, it made a huge difference to my day!
