My husband was referred to the A&E department by our GP on Wednesday 24th July, with a suspected stroke. I am so sorry that I can't put names to faces, but everyone who dealt with us on that stressful afternoon was so helpful, kind and caring. The receptionist, the triage nurse, the three nurses who took blood, took Roy for a scan and gave him an ECG - all were exemplary. The doctor who reviewed the CT scan explained everything very clearly, and referred Roy on to the Royal Hallamshire neuro department. The ambulance crew who took him there with blue lights flashing were very reassuring, and relieved he stress through humour. Within an hour of arriving at the Hallamshire, Roy underwent burrhole surgery to remove a subdural haematoma. He was home by the weekend, with no ill effects. Seamless co-operation from GP to local hospital to specialist unit - his treatment could not have been better! Thank you!
"Thank you all so much - the NHS at its best!"
