My daughter was admitted for an elective surgical procedure via the new DOSA. I can honestly say what a great system. The staff were so reassuring and attentive. Her surgeon was there to see her by 07:10 and also the anaesthetist which we found very reassuring. My daughter and myself were really put at ease before such a big surgical procedure.
Following surgery my daughter went to Ward 206 under the care of Mr Parnaby. Mr Parnaby, Duncan, their junior medical team and all staff on the ward (too many to mention individually) were second to none. They were all so attentive and nothing was a problem. My daughter was in for 15 days and the care and support was just excellent. For such a busy consultant she saw Mr Parnaby twice everyday and his team were always checking in on her.
Following a week at home my daughter began to feel unwell. I phoned the ward, only for advice. The nurse Donna was so helpful and said she would contact Mr Parnaby. 10 minutes later we received a phone call to tell us to go to ward 208 clinic where she would be seen straight away. Within 6 hours of arriving my daughter had been seen by Duncan, Mr Parnaby and many other medical staff and nursing staff. Within this time she had 2 procedures, bloods done, fluids and IV antibiotics given. She had her diagnosis and also given a bed in the ward. This was all outstanding and I can’t thank everyone enough.
She was then transferred to 207 where she was for a further 7 days. Again she seen the team at least once a day. They were so supportive and explained everything through a difficult time, always making time for her.
The nursing staff, again were second to none, such an amazing team.
We can’t thank everyone enough for the care and attention before, during and after surgery.
You are all worth your weight in gold and everything was so much appreciated. We are so lucky to have the NHS and wonderful staff like you all.
