I attended the urgent care centre (sited by A&E) late afternoon following a scald to my foot the previous week which seemed to be getting infected. I came to Chelsea and Westminster as it is a centre of excellence for burns, so I thought I'd get a better level of care than at my local hospital. I was treated courteously at all times with exceptional attention from medical/nursing staff. Although busy, everything seemed under control. The nurse practitioner who triaged me was a burns liaison expert. Quite reasonably I had to wait approx. another three hours for treatment. The doctor who saw me introduced himself, explained what he was doing and why, sought my views and treated me like an adult. I was given a prescription for antibiotics and the doctor arranged a follow-up appointment for 36 hours later. At that appointment, my wound was checked by a nurse specialist, who answered my question about how to minimise scarring. My foot was redressed by a different A& E nurse who gave me a few dressings to do it myself. Four weeks later, all is fine. All four medical/nursing staff I saw really were excellent and I can't praise them enough. If I had to attend A&E (first time for years) I'd definitely come back here.
"Urgent care centre was excellent"
