"They can't sort out prescriptions"

About: The Koh Practice

I have until recently been happy with this practice however my recent experiences regarding arranging for repeat prescriptions have been less than positive. Despite me explaining to them several times that I need 4 specific medications, which I then collect from Boots at the One Life, they consistently fail to send the correct order. For some reason, whilst 3 of my tablets are now on repeat, they persist in putting another medication on which I have used only sporadically and which I would request if required. The problem is with my anti-histamine tablets for hay fever and I was informed today that because "people don't need them all year round, they are not put on repeat". Unfortunately, I need them year round and I have been told that they have issued another prescription which I must pick up at the surgery, despite me informing them that I work out of town and my hours do not coincide with their opening. I regret I am very disappointed with my recent experience of this practice.

I am very sorry to hear that you are dis-satisfied with the service received from the Practice recently and would like to inform you that we really do value your feedback.

The reason for not adding this medication to your repeat medication initially is the fact that this medication is for seasonal use ONLY and long term use, > 6months, can cause health problems.

Also this medication is classed as a Grey List Medication (available over the counter) and Practices are monitored by our local Clinical Commissioning Group on the prescribing of all Grey List Drugs.

Practices are discouraged from prescribing all Grey List Drugs.

I would like to suggest that you make an appointment with your GP who will be able to explain our reasons in greater detail.

Thanks again for your feedback and I sincerely hope you find this brief explanation useful and welcome any further feedback you have ideally via the Practice directly.
