I feel compelled to write this review due to the superb treatment I have received at Walsall Manor Hospital by the breast cancer surgeons and nurse team in particular. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 and I had experienced disappointment and insensitivity at my local hospital in Coventry. I asked to be referred to Walsall Manor Hospital as I knew of the excellent reputation of the surgeon there who had operated on my sister for the same illness. I was so relieved from the outset when I was made to feel welcome and valued. The surgeon really listened to me and to my preferred plan of dealing with the cancer. He offered reassurance and acted without delay to carry out the urgent surgery.
I have now been in the care of Walsall Manor for two years and have required other procedures during that time. How thankful I am to the brilliant surgeon and his team and to the nurses who always care enough to remember my name and make me feel that I matter. The care has been consistently excellent throughout this time. Also, I am thankful to the oncologist who carefully explained the options open to me and respected the choices I made about how I wished to proceed.
This has been a first class experience from day one and I would like to assure any woman facing this frightening diagnosis that you are in very good hands if you are fortunate enough to be in the care of Walsall Manor Hospital.
I also commend the hospital staff as a whole. I really appreciate the spacious layout of the hospital which is not clinical and cold. There are always interesting displays or promotions going on giving important information to visitors. I have not been kept waiting for appointments and have been seen on time on all visits, reception staff are friendly and helpful.
In my opinion you are an example that some of the larger and better known hospitals could learn from. Please accept my grateful thanks and well deserved compliments.
