"My labour and maternity care"

About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I was induced at 42 weeks and experienced the most incredible care from staff on Ward 17 and Labour Ward at the Borders General Hospital. Everyone I came into contact with was an absolute superstar, from the midwives to the maternity care assistants, the students and the domestic staff. They looked after me so well and put me back together - physically and mentally - after a tough labour experience. I was often told "we're just doing our job" but it was far more than that to me. I can't speak highly enough of the maternity unit team and everything they do for expecting and new mothers. Thank you so much guys, you are all legends! !

Thank you so much HLK for such kind words.

Our aim is to make our ladies feel safe and well cared for within their stay on the Maternity unit and it sounds like the staff have done just that! It's lovely to hear we are achieving this goal of Person-Centered care we set out to provide.

I will share this with the staff and they will be absolutely delighted with your description of them being Legends!! It's very empowering to hear such lovely feedback from our ladies.

I hope you are settling into life as a new family!

Claire
