"Out-Patients' appointment (Yellow Desk)"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

I accompanied my elderly mother to her appointment in the Yellow Desk department today and would like to express my sincere gratitude to all staff who supported her so well throughout the visit. She was very anxious about the appointment prior to the visit but I felt that, from the moment she arrived, she was put at ease and that continued every step of the way. From the outset, the receptionist was extremely pleasant and friendly, as was the nurse who carried out a pre-appointment procedure. The doctor was very patient and professional, offering us excellent advice regarding the medical complaint that had been causing concern, and the nurse who worked alongside him was simply second to none. From the moment we entered the consultation room, she showed a real interest in her patient who, in this case, really struggles to walk, and she had a superb and bubbly disposition throughout, appearing to be genuinely very kind, caring and interested in the welfare of the patient she was looking after. On leaving the Yellow Desk area, we sought advice for the quickest way out, so as to avoid the long walk back to the main reception. We were immediately assisted by yet another enthusiastic nurse who could not do enough for us, taking us personally to the closest exit, and generally going out of her way. Many thanks to all staff for the support shown today. I could not fault the level of care that my mother and I received.
