"Ridiculous"

About: Abbey Field Medical Centre

Had a midwife appointment at 14:50 for my 16week check, got in there at 14:30 and explained I had children to pick up from school if there is any possible way I could be seen a little earlier. 15:15 still hadn't been seen. Explained to reception I had to go and pick up my children from school so I was given an appointment for 15:50 to come back. Was eventually called in at 16:00. The midwife who I have never met gave me a tube to do a urine sample, how you are supposed to work with that little tube is beyond me! Was then told to 'keep it for next time' after she tested it and handed it back to me. I wasn't told any information about my urine. Took my blood pressure, had to ask if it was ok or not as again wasn't told. Came to listening to baby's heart beat, kept explaining I could not hear it as she couldn't seem to find it properly herself and when I finally managed to hear a faint sound all she said was 'ok' and took the Doppler off. My tummy wasn't measured. It literally felt like no care and consideration was given at all and I feel that myself and my unborn baby were not professionally examined properly! No notes from that session were given to me, literally a complete waste of time for me and my family.

I am truly sorry you have had this experience.

Unfortunately we do not manage/employ the midwifes, we simply let them use the rooms in our building for the convenience of their patients,

I will pass this onto the people who are responsible.
