"Delay in getting prescription from GP"

My Mother had high pressure in her eye and after visiting the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, her doctor sent a letter for her GP to prescribe some treatment for the pressure which they would receive at the end of May.

But today (12th June) she still has not received the treatment and after numerous calls and having the hospital fax the letter to the surgery because it has not been processed by her GP surgery I'm hoping she gets the prescription this afternoon.

This treatment is very important, she could lose her sight. The first receptionist did not seem to care, she tried to blame the post, Bank holidays and staff shortages but suggested my mother make an appointment so that the GP could ring the hospital to see what treatment she needed.

When trying to make appointment she was told Monday 18th June, but today is tues 12th June - 15 days since they received the letter.
