"Value your staff, they are your greatest asset"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

It Is my experience in life that we are more inclined to express negative comments than positive ones  something I would like  to remedy.

I was recently admitted to Crosshouse Hospital for Surgery under the care of Dr Rae Consultant Gynaecologist and his surgical team. After surgery I was passed into the care of Dep Ward Manager Mrs Middleton and her staff, there is only one word to describe the care I received during my stay  from beginning to end which is   "Faultless"

Medicine is a Vocation, Clinical expertise is necessary but also  basic human qualities are required  kindness, compassion and empathy all of which I encountered during my stay.

As an Academic I feel able to say that the Best University in the World is unable to provide these qualities. Value your staff they are your greatest asset.

 I would like to ask whoever reads these comments to ensure that my thoughts are passed on  to each and every person who was involved in my care  along with my most my most grateful  thanks.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

I am one of the people who reads these comments and I could not agree with you more. I will most definitely ensure your post (and gratitude) is passed to the whole team, I will even send them a poster to display.

Thank you for taking time to share this with us on Care Opinion. We can't ask for better than 'faultless'. It is a real pleasure to read that you encountered such good care, involving kindness, compassion and empathy. If only we could bottle these attributes and sell them.
