I honestly can not say thank you to every member of staff I came into contact with on the 15th July 2019, enough. The lady that was on reception when I arrived was polite and patient with me, the nurse that took us down to the ward was fantastic, introduced herself well and was so caring when it came to 1 to 1 meeting and explained everything that was to happen and felt like she was there for me 100% and I certainly didn’t feel just like a number in the hospital, with it being my 1st day surgery visit, I was super nervous, and she really helped me relax a bit more than I would have if she hadn’t have shown she cared. The ‘taxi’ driver that took me down to theatre was brilliant, talking to me the whole time and making me feel safe and calm too. The nurse that volunteered to come down with me was brilliant and the theatre staff were so amazing and so reassuring, asking me how much I wanted to know about what they were going to in the room and step by step, clearly seeing I was upset, unsure and scared. The surgeon was fantastic, and came to see my husband after the procedure to let him know how it went, to put his mind at rest too. Thank you for that. They are all definitely a credit to the NHS and you can’t train people to go above and beyond their job roles, they are truly amazing people to have working for you and I honestly hope they get to see this review and know who they are. Each and every member of staff made me feel safe, comfortable, looked after and reassured. Thank you all again.
