"Miscarriage care"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as a service user),

Over 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with an early pregnancy loss in Rubislaw ward. This was of course devastating and a time of lots of emotions. Over the coming 2 weeks I was regularly within Rubislaw ward throughout my diagnosis, care and treatment. During this time I had both medical and eventually surgical interventions, but even though this isn’t what I had planned the staff made the whole journey bearable for me and for my partner.

Throughout this whole experience I was looked after impeccably. Nothing was a problem, I felt so well supported and a great deal of time was given to me to help myself and my partner make the right decisions for us. I was encouraged to phone if I was unsure of anything, and all my options were very clearly laid out to me in a way that made it so much easier in a difficult time. I honestly can’t thank all staff enough, in particular Morag, Amy, Joyce and Pam in Rubislaw.
Also a massive thank you to Dr Woolner, Dr El-Dash, Dr Sunkesula, Louise, Slywia and Nikki for they’re brilliant care in Theatres, they made a unnerving experience so calm and relaxing.
Although extremely sad, this experience has made me very proud of the excellent care women are provided in these difficult times. Thank you all!

Dear Feedback123,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such lovely feedback, during what must be a very difficult time for you and your family, please accept my condolences for your loss.

The team in Rubislaw ward work very hard to provide the best possible care in what can be very difficult circumstances.

I will share this with the staff you have mentioned who will be pleased to hear that the care they provided has met your needs.

Thanks again

May I wish you all the best for the future.

Liz
