"Bad experience"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Gastroenterology

(as a relative),

My 83 yo father had dripping tap like bowel movement for several weeks. Positive FIT test, chronic anaemia, weight loss, anal pain. 3 weeks in QMC GI wards several failed sigmoidoscopies and a colonoscopy and no answers. No follow up booked and the discharge summary said his diahorrea had cleared up which was false. He continues to be faecaly incontinent and very poorly over a month later. The staff work hard on the whole but the medical treatment and communication was poor.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch with your feedback about your father’s care. I’m sorry to hear you have cause to raise concerns about care and communication. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss these with you personally so that we can understand where we may have fallen short and where we can improve for our patients. Please contact me on 0115 924 9924 ext 88621 and I will be pleased to do so.

Kind regards

Jo Manogue
Matron for Gastroenterology, HPB and Colorectal
