"A year at the Royal Derby Hospital"

About: Royal Derby Hospital / Urology

Over the last 13 months I have had approx 70 appointments, an operation and one week stay at the RDH. A year ago I was diagnosed with a high grade (Gleason 9) prostate cancer. I had a prostatectomy on 7/9/18, followed by a one week stay on Ward 310. Since then I have had appointments in Oncology, 33 Radiotherapy treatments, and numerous follow up appointments in Urology.

My treatment has always been excellent!

Over the last year I have had the good fortunate to meet a dozen people who I regard as both outstanding health care professionals and outstanding human beings. I would like to mention the Urology dept as being particularly outstanding. The treatment I have received has literally saved my life!
