In April, I had two suspected basal cell carcinoma's excised in Kingston hospital. My face- to-face experience with the dermatology and plastic surgery department was all positive and I came away feeling good after my appointments and surgery. Sadly, however, this feeling did not last as I was faced with an extremely long wait for the letter informing on the outcome of the biopsy/histology report on the skin lesions.
It is now nearly 12 weeks post surgery and I still haven't received the letter!. I have called the department numerous times over the past 4 weeks and each time they inform me that the histology report is back but they are waiting for the letter to be dictated. Every day I go to the post box to check for the letter and every day I am disappointed! I called again today after being reassured (again) last week that the letter would be drafted, and I was once again informed that it has not been done yet. I feel very frustrated and feel it is such as shame as the original service was so good. I called PALS today to discuss and they didn't answer the phone....this situation makes a person feel extremely powerless.
