Yesterday I had surgery to remove the products of a delayed miscarriage. The staff and consultants at Bedford Hospital were absolutely superb. From the early pregnancy unit who gave us the initial care and support we needed to talk about what had happened and how we could move forward. The A&E staff who carried out emergency checks so efficiently. The orchard gynaecology unit who cared for me relentlessly for the whole day, who put up with my stupid questions and requests for help, with nothing but smiles and supportiveness. The anethetists who made me laugh and relax before sending me to sleep with a dream so beautiful I cried when I woke up. The theatre team who I barely got to see before I slept, and I never got to see to say thank you. The recovery team, who helped me wake up and not feel scared. The porters who pushed me around the hospital without catching my feet on anything (which were hanging over the end of the bed by a foot!) The student nurse, on the Orchard ward who looked after me for over 12 hours and never stopped smiling. The surgeon who was rushed off his feet, but raced up to the ward to answer my questions.

I don't know how to get thanks to all the people involved, so I am writing this message and hope it gets through to them all.
