I spent 5 days under the care of Ward 9 staff and my experience was positively unexpected. I was very impressed by how efficiently the whole department was being managed. Everyone was busy, always involved in tasks, yet despite the continual interruptions from patients, each member of staff dealt with it with a smile. Each member of the team showed an authentic care for each and everyone of us who were treated as individuals.
It’s clear that no-one believes that something is someone else’s job - everyone “mucks in”. I cannot understand how anyone would have any justifiable criticism of this team. When I was leaving the ward, preparations were already underway for the next patient to fill my bed and I was unceremoniously released from their custody. This smacks of efficiency. If I were to make any criticism then it would be to the management and it’s this: the staff work their butts off for 12.5 hours, even though they are only paid for 11.5 per shift. Please respect and value their contribution.
"Ward 9 team exceptional"
