I wanted to share this story to highlight the compassion showed by the nurse practitioner on duty, Maria. I ended up in Little France AnE with severe stomach pain. She spotted me, talked straight to me, looked me in the eye, made me feel cared for, assured me she would take care of me and made sure I was comfortable. I was blown away by the compassion and empathy she showed me and the other patients. She is a real credit to your team and at a time you feel scared and in pain, she went the extra mile and made me feel cared about. Under your statement of professional service where you highlight empathy, you should go ahead and stick her picture underneath it. All the staff were outstanding but Maria was the pinnacle of what makes the NHS fabulous, Thank you!
