"Treatment for hand injury at A&E"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Xrays & Scans

(as the patient),

I went to A&E at Forth Valley Royal after injuring my finger at work.

I felt staff were very attentive and helpful. The waiting facilities were good - tv, water cooler, vending machines. It's good to see the waiting times displayed on the screen. It showed the waiting time was 30 minutes and they were pretty well spot on as I was taken after 40.

The nurses were good but particularly Dr Wardrop who was excellent. She explained my injury very well, that I had injured the tendons in my finger and how they worked like series of pulleys. It was terms that I understood, no long medical words!

The service from X ray was also good and very quick.

There isn't really any facilities in the waiting area after xray but that's all, not a big problem.
