"Radiology"

THIS FORM does NOT LIST ALL THE RELEVANT DEPARTMENTS. BUT, Visited Heatherwood Radiology TODAY for an 11:30 appointment for a scan. Having allowed 30 mins for a two mile journey, we still found that due to very badly backed up Ascot race traffic, we were going to be ((a few minutes) late, so we phoned the only number given on the appointment letter (Slough number, not helpful) we phoned before the actual appointment time and explained that we were about 250 yards away from the hospital but caught in the traffic Log-Jam for the races and that we were coming but would be a few minutes late.

Instead of the Slough Appointments number putting us through to the relevant radiology department at Heatherwood we were just sent around an useless automated system and then sent endlessly around the sub-system with a whole collection of PRESS 1, Press 2, Press 3. We gave up but we HAD explained to the person who answered on the appointment number the general gist of the situation and that we were 250 yds away and would be a FEW MINUTES late. We arrived just a few minutes late, paid £4 for parking, went in to Radiology reception where another patient was ahead of us filling in a form at the counter, there was just the one receptionist who didn't attempt to deal with us while the lady in front was filling in her form. SO, a further 5 MINUTES IN THE QUEUE at radiology reception. When the receptionist finally spoke to us we explained that we were a few minutes late, BUT HAD phoned ahead before the appointment time to warn them. She said "well you're still actually LATE regardless and the Doctor

HAS GONE, He COULDN'T WAIT"!

The time was now 11:40 so just 10 MINS LATE for our appointment, having phoned ahead before time, and the Doctor has GONE! I think that is AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE, AND INEXCUSABLE.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. PUT THE DIRECT DEPARTMENT PHONE NUMBER ON THE APPOINTMENT LETTERS and please TELL YOUR STAFF NOT TO SLOPE OFF EARLY, he had already gone BEFORE our appointment would have been finished!
