"Ambulance admitted with chest pains"

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital / Accident and emergency

I was admitted Friday night 7th june with severe chest pains. I was given morphine in the ambulance and this helped for a while. The pain did not go completely and when the morphine was wearing off the pain was again very severe. I was given an ECG & blood test then I was made to walk outside to the waiting room shown to a chair and was told the doctor would see me later. After a while i asked if i could get some more pain relief the nurse at the reception desk said what's your name I will ask a nurse for you. After watching her laughing and joking with the reception staff and assisting other patients that were struggling but never asked for help after ten minutes or so I decided to walk into where I had come from. I asked the nurse who walked me out originally if I could please have some pain relief, at this point I could hardly stand I felt like I was going to pass out. She said after you've seen the doctor so

I asked "how long will that be my love roughly" about 5 hours was the reply, so i said im sorry but i cant wait that long its unbearable. Well you have to wait your turn was her coarse reply. I Know I had not been rude as all the nurses kept saying don't apologise it's not your fault your poorly. So why I was treated so badly I do not know. I could not stand the pain any longer so asked the receptionist if she could order me a taxi please, she said there's a phone round the corner I asked her please help me you can see I can hardly walk and I'm in a lot of pain she did so begrudgingly. I went home after having my candular taken out, now 36 hours later I am still in bed in severe pain having slept most of Saturday & Sunday. I don't know how long this will last but I cannot ring an ambulance again for the same thing. As I left of my own accord or to put it how I feel I was forced to leave because of lack of proffesional help. I am no better but at least occasionally I can get slightly comfortable. Which is more than I could sitting on a hard chair in agony for 5 hours. According to everyone I spoke to ambulance men nurses ETC they all said that it WAS quiet for a Friday night, I anticipated a lot of alcohol and drug related problems as it was Friday night but the staff assured me it was not the case so why they couldn't see Some One in chronic pain especially chest related or at least give some form of pain relief to I cannot understand. I honestly felt victimised. This is not my only bad experience at this hospital
