"Air bubble"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as the patient),

I had a great experience when being seen, my only concern was when I came to have my CCT scan.

When preparing me the nurse was putting some saline solution in my arm and as they were doing it I noticed a large air bubble in the syringe as they was putting it into my arm. I stopped them straight away saying ‘stop theres a big air bubble in that!’. They replied very complacent ‘oh it’s fine im not putting it all in.’

I was very worried and shocked that they did not get rid of any air before putting into my arm. Luckily they did not put it all in but it got extremely close to the bubble and it could have so easily have gone into my vein. Which I believe would have caused death! I do consider this was very bad practice and needs looking into.
