"Road Traffic Collision"

About: Basildon University Hospital / Accident and emergency Basildon University Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Connect Physical Health Ltd Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

Four of my family including myself were hit by a car on the pavement as pedestrians.  I was seriously injured with 3 fractures to my pelvis and a cracked hip socket.  In addition I had facial injuries requiring 6 internal and 3 internal stitches plus 6 broken teeth.  This incident happened in Leicester and I was transferred to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.  I spent eight days in there and was then transferred back home by ambulance to Basildon Hospital. After Basildon I was transferred to a Rehab Unit in Grays. On discharge from Grays I spent two days at home and was readmitted to Basildon Hospital with chest pains.  In all I spent 6 weeks in hospitals,

I have found that my treatment in all hospitals has been excellent.  The staff have been absolutely amazing and I received first class treatment.  I am still receiving medical treatment, Physio, Pain Management, Therapy and Dental. It is a very long process.

We are sorry to hear of the incident you and your family were involved in and the injuries you sustained.

We are pleased that you that you received the appropriate treatment at the various hospitals and are continuing to receive treatment to help with your recovery.
