What I liked
The hospital was exceptionally clean.
Some of the nursing staff and doctors were excellent - however there was absolutely no continuity - and so as soon as a good nurse/doctor left a poor one took over.
What could be improved
There was absolutely no continuity of care - the shift pattern of the nurses meant that during my stay I never saw the same nurse twice. This also meant there was no accountability for care.
I was given no information at all about my condition - I was not involved in decision making and most of the time felt that I was either an inconvenience or a piece of meat!
I didn't choose to be in hospital and found it impossible to obtain sufficient information about my condition to make any decisions. I appreciate that staff are over stretched but the basic qualities of compassion or care was missing at times - this is wholly inappropriate when those forced in to hospital are at their most vulnerable.
