What I liked
At first the staff seemed to be able to co-ordinate my care but it all fell to pieces with the actions of a few members of staff?
A and e staff were good but it all fell to pieces in the emergency care unit due to the actions of one junior doctor.
What could be improved
Co-ordination between staff and the checking of notes and diagnosis before I was discharged.
Anything else?
The staff were polite but could not co-ordinate my care with any degree of accuracy.
One doctor forgot to take a blood sample after 12 hours because somebody had put the wrong time for the test in my notes.
Another used a rubber glove as a strap to take a blood sample.
Then when I was discharged the junior doctor entered on my discharge letter that I had been diagnosed with angina which was news to me and the consultant and staff as I had a chest infection.
The doctor sent a nurse to apologise and scribbled the mistake out and the GP letter had to be altered aswell.
If I had not seen this incorrect entry on the discharge letter my GP and medical files would have been incorrect.
Doctor should apologise.
"Good service to a degree but entering a diagnosis..."
