"Girlfriends Case"

My girlfriend, has autism with a long history of post traumatic stress from sexual abuse, violence of partners. We set up a original meeting mapping out all her issues especially related to her autism that she need counselling of dialectic variety, psychotherapy and she needs a diagnosis because she is using alcohol to cope. 2nd meeting to highlight the issues after delays with the Forward Trust to give her what she needs as she has police come to stop her from harming herself etc... and not put down as a emergency especially when she took an overdose several months prior. Had a meeting with the psychotherapist that said she needed further help especially in her cases of psychosis, alcohol dependency etc.. Now this weeks psychotherapists simply says you are depressed and increased her medication when she is already at a level where it shows no scientific advantage to increase her dose as its show on population going over 60mg has a very low chance in help, It was a locum psychotherapist that had no knowledge of my girlfriends notes etc.. completely unprepared especially when agreeing in the previous meeting to seek a diagnosis for PTSD or another issue. Completed failed by Coleman House, I would encourage those that can seek help privately. They make you feel like they listened by then do not do what is required. NOW MY GIRLFRIEND FEELS LIKE ITS POINTLESS TO LIVE ANY LONGER, SHE WAS CRYING FOR 4 HOURS LAST NIGHT. I understand demands are high with austerity at least when making appointments that are booked further, to actually be ready to help to understand and work toward treatment, management etc... Pathetic!!!

We are sorry to hear that you have not had the level of support and responsiveness that we would expect for people under our care.

In order to understand what has happened and see how we can improve your care, and the service we provide more generally, it would be helpful if you spoke to the service manager at Coleman House.

You can call 01304 216666 and ask for Julie Garbett. Please mention that you have been directed to her a result of your post on NHS.UK. If Julie is not available it will be possible to speak to one of the Team managers.

If you would prefer to speak to someone independent of the community team then you could contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0800 587 6757 or email kmpt.pals.kmpt@nhs.net.
