What I liked
I have terminal heart disease and have to be admitted every two weeks for treatment. Hospital can be a scary and lonely places to be, and with my future outlook this can be magnified ten fold. The staff not only give me the treatment I need not only in a professional way but do it with such compassion. I have a number of occasions phoned the ward while I have been home because I am worried or anxious and they have helped me in so many ways either directly or have got me the help I have needed. Even just a chat to help me through. I have been very lucky to observe the team and the way they give this dedication to all of the patients that come on to the ward.
They not only act as a team but are more like a extended family. A recent example of their caring nature is just recently I celebrated my birthday, I was fortunate to be home for this. I awoke to find several birthday cards not just from all the nurses and staff but from the individual ones as well. They never put this via the post but took the time to hand deliver them.
I personally feel I only find the courage and ability to carry on is with the support and care that all the team do on this ward, I can honestly say without them I feel my battle would been lost a long time ago
What could be improved
little shop and cafe are closed at the weekend this can be annoying.
"Very good, keep up the great work"
