"Great antenatal, labour and birth experience"

After having a baby at North mid in 2014 and falling pregnant again in 2018 I was unsure where to have baby as my 2014 experience was not great on labour and post natal wards . I originally started my maternity care for this pregnancy in Barnet. In my early weeks of pregnancy I was very poorly and visited North mid a handful of times where the care was supportive, quick and helpful in A and E. After an early scan at Barnet at 7 weeks pregnant I transferred my care to North mid. I have had 8-10 scans throughout my pregnancy and plenty of appointments with consultants to talk through my plan. The early community midwives I saw when booking in were helpful and listened to my concerns and worries and set me up for consultant care including recommending I see the specialist consultant that allows for birth centre. This early care was crucial as From very early on my wishes and concerns were listened to and the midwife used her knowledge and experience in putting together my care plan. As the months progressed the appointments continued and I was pleased with all of the care. There was one stage where an appointment with an anaesthetist consultant and a obstetric conultant give me contradictory advice but then I expressed my own wishes to be passed to the midwifery consultant for the birth centre and from thereonin i never looked back. The service, care, professionalism and duty of care was first class and I am so grateful for the support which resulted in the safe arrival of my daughter in exactly the way I wanted on the birth centre. The midwives on duty on the morning I went into labour were also superb and treated me with care dignity and were so kind genuine and supportive. Of all of my three pregnancies this was the most supportive and personal - and the fact that my body responded in the best way through appropriate medical care. Thank you I am so grateful.
